In Memory of

Angus came to me in 2024 as an import and as a co-own with my valued friend and mentor, Maisie Goldsworthy of Nuovo Kennels. Angus is survived by his sister (Utopia Empire of Wisdom) and half sister (Iris Empire of Wisdom) with Maisie, and his sister's litter from which Nuovo Lumi (Lumi) and Nuovo Neytiri (Remi) came. Angus was much loved by us. A large male with so much presence, he was the sweetest male I've had the pleasure of interacting with. He was gentle and measured with other dogs, loved dearly by my children (and he loved them dearly in return!) and he was always cheerful. He took life in his stride and was just pleased to be along for the ride.

Angus was a fully health tested male and his pedigree was very well proven, including 4 International Champions and 11 Champions within a 4 generation pedigree. This includes the esteemed Ollada Arlekin Marvel, Timoniere Marlo, the famous Portos, and well-known kennels such as Ollada Arlekin, Dei Peligni, Della Valle Dei Lord, Dei Dauni, Nostre Speranze, Custodi Nos, Di Casa Cesaro, Del Rosso Malpelo within 6 generations of pedigree. Angus achieved a BH certificate. He was extremely balanced, showing no fear of new things and approaching everything with a controlled mindset. Fantastic with other dogs and children, he had the perfect temperament.

Unfortunately, on the 1st August 2024, Angus had a sudden downhill turn and I rushed him to the emergency vet. Angus had a huge mass blocking his stomach and another mass on his heart. He had a chest full of fluid and was in respiratory distress. After investigations, a very aggressive lymphoma was identified and the decision was taken to humanely euthanise Angus to prevent further suffering, as the lymphoma was at a stage there would be no positive outcomes with treatment. This type of cancer is not genetic. He is greatly missed by all of us, and will always be our "little lamb".

Angus was due to be proven in my kennel with his first litter. Heartbreakingly, Nova was spayed due to an emergency pyometra after breeding and he passed before he sired any puppies. In his memory, my kennel will never have an "A" litter - this litter was supposed to be his legacy and my foundation, and therefore as a permanent marker of respect to him, I Molossi Del Porto Kennel will start with litter "B" in 2025.
